Customer Achievements
Concurrence software has been used by BAE Systems (Surface Fleet Solutions) to package bid information, presentation materials, contract packs, and phase review materials. It provides the team with an electronic branded medium for the transmittal of documentation, ensuring any information that needs to captured, collated and delivered is in a coherent, controlled, attractive and easy to navigate format.
Key benefits that have been identified:
- The ability to deliver to a customer or subcontractor a Naval Ship's branded, quality assured, easily used documentation package in electronic format.
- The fact that no preparation or special formatting of the files is required, All commonly used file formats can be packaged allowing both viewing and printing.
- Once implemented the software requires little formal training, beyond the ability to point and click, but ensures that solid, robust and usable processes are implemented and maintained.
- Both internal and external customers and sub-contractors have praised this new method of distributing bid information to customers and sub-contractor RFP / Quotation packages.
The team members from BAE Systems (Surface Fleet Solutions) that were involved in this project have been highly motivated to ensure the success of this project, in rapidly moving through initial versions, approval for templates, and customisation of template to suit individual contracts and customers, and this enthusiasm has paid off. The work of this team in promoting the use of packaged information, advising other business units on the achieving the best results and sharing valuable feedback between partners is now used as an examplar of what can be achieved in this company.
Malcolm Robb of BAE Systems said “The performance benefits envisaged at the start of this programme have already been achieved and exceeded. In particular, the packaged delivery of the CV(F) Shipbuilding RFI and RFQ's was singled out for praise by the Aircraft Carrier Alliance.”
“As a result of these successes the use of this method of information delivery and in particular the use of the Concurrence Software to achieve it, has been recognised as Best Practice by BAE’s 'Centre for Performance Excellence', and has also been adopted and implemented by other BAE SYSTEMS Business Units."
